SUMMER HOLIDAYS IN VALLES, GITSCHBERG JOCHTAL

Where fresh mountain air writes the best stories

Outside is our favourite place to be. From spring until the golden days of autumn, a breath-taking mountain world opens up in every direction around Valles.

In the Gitschberg Jochtal ski and holiday area, trails await for every level – from easy themed paths to family-friendly panoramic routes and challenging summit climbs.

And the best part? You don’t have to go far. Set off on foot straight from your apartment, hop on your bike, or take in the view from above – with the South Tyrol Guest Pass, public transport is free of charge.

On Foot

Take a leisurely stroll and soak in the medieval charm of nearby Rio di Pusteria/Mühlbach. Just above our house, a panoramic circuit trail begins, perfect for gentle hikes. Families love the Jochtal Adventure Park and themed trails such as the Elves' Trail and the South Tyrolean Milk Trail.

One of the most popular excursions is the idyllic mountain pasture village of Fane Alm, perched just above Valles/Vals. Surrounded by grazing cows and the scent of Alpine flowers, it’s the starting point for countless hiking routes. And if you need them, we’ll happily lend you hiking poles and baby carriers free of charge.

On Two Wheels

Whether it’s a leisurely ride through the valley with the whole family, a challenging mountain bike tour high into South Tyrol’s peaks, or a relaxed e-bike trip to explore the region – everything is possible, and nothing is off limits.

And the best part: at the train station in Rio di Pusteria/Mühlbach you’ll find our very own "BikeRental Leitner". If you prefer, we’ll even deliver your rented bikes right to your apartment door. With top-quality equipment, excellent service, and official certification with the "Leading Rent & Service" quality seal, you can count on a smooth start to every adventure.

Mountain Adventures

High above the valley, the Big Five of the Gitschberg Jochtal ski and holiday area rise into the sky: Wilde Kreuzspitze, Napfspitze, Seefeldspitz, Gaisjoch and Astjoch. Each peak tells its own story – of rugged rock, endless horizons and that quiet moment at the summit when the world seems to stand still. The reward is more than just a view; it’s a memory that lingers long after you’ve descended back into the valley.

For families, the Steinermandl panorama platform promises adventure with ease: a gentle hike, wide eyes, and sweeping 360° views over the Pfunderer mountains. And when your legs have done their work, there’s nothing sweeter than retreating to your private sauna at Mulin – where the warmth embraces you and the mountain day finds its perfect ending.

More Than Just Hiking

Hiking in Valles/Vals, in the heart of the Gitschberg Jochtal ski and holiday region, is only the beginning of what will make your stay at Mulin unforgettable. Swap your hiking boots for a round of mini golf in Maranza/Meransen, try your hand at fishing or climbing, or take to the skies with a tandem paragliding flight – because sometimes a new perspective is all you need.

And when summer turns up the heat? Feel the rush of white water on an adrenaline-filled rafting tour, or cool off with a swim at the Aquarena in Bressanone/Brixen — free admission included for our guests.
